Which cookies the site uses, what they are for, and how you can change your choices at any time.
This page is a translation for convenience. The Italian version is the legally binding text and prevails in case of any discrepancy.
This page explains how Vicinalia uses cookies and similar tools, under Article 122 of the Italian Data Protection Code and the Guidelines on cookies and other tracking tools issued by the Italian Data Protection Authority on 10 June 2021. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a site saves in your browser and reads again on later visits. Similar tools, such as browser local storage, pixels or signals sent by a script, work in a similar way, and on this page we call all of them "cookies".
The categories we use
Technical cookies (always active)
These make the site work and do not require consent. We use them to:
- keep you signed in to your personal area;
- protect forms from fraudulent submissions;
- remember that you are signed in, only if you choose "remember me";
- remember your theme and menu preferences in your personal area;
- record your cookie choices, so we don't ask again on every page.
These are first-party cookies, set by our own domain, and are not used to track you on other sites. Our network provider Cloudflare may use technical cookies to protect the site from automated traffic and attacks, where the service provides for this. The site also uses the browser's session storage (sessionStorage) only to avoid recording the same search or report twice in statistics: it contains no personal data and is cleared when the tab is closed.
Statistics (only with consent)
With your consent we use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand how the site is used: how many searches are made and with what outcome, in which municipalities and provinces, how many reports are created and downloaded, and how many people register or visit the prices page. We do not send Google your email, name, full address, parcel details or report identifiers.
Marketing (only with consent)
With your consent we use Google Ads and Meta Pixel to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns and, where relevant, to show you Vicinalia adverts on other sites and on Meta's platforms. Google and Meta may link this data to your account with them, under their respective notices: Google and Meta.
How consent works
On your first visit, a banner lets you:
- accept all cookies;
- reject all non-technical cookies, with a button of equal prominence;
- choose by category which ones to enable.
If you ignore the banner or close the preferences window without saving, only technical cookies stay active. Continuing to browse or scrolling the page does not count as consent.
We use Google Consent Mode v2. Until you consent, Google's tags do not write or read statistics or marketing cookies. Google may still receive technical signals without cookies, for example that a page was visited and that consent was not given, together with the technical data every browser sends (such as IP address and browser type). Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not store the IP addresses of users in the European Union. Meta Pixel is not loaded until you give marketing consent.
Your choice remains valid for 182 giorni. We ask you again before that deadline if we add services or materially change how they are used.
Changing or withdrawing your choices
You can change your mind at any time, as easily as you gave consent, from the "Cookie preferences" link at the bottom of every page, or from here:
Withdrawal applies going forward. When you withdraw consent we try to delete the statistics and marketing cookies set on our domain; data already sent to Google or Meta remains subject to their own retention rules.

Deleting cookies from your browser
You can also delete or block cookies from your browser settings. This is usually found under "Settings", in the "Privacy" or "Cookies and site data" section. If you block all cookies, including technical ones, you will not be able to access your personal area or make a purchase. Many browsers also offer private browsing, which clears cookies when the window is closed.
Transfers and rights
Google and Meta may process data in the United States as well, with the safeguards described in the Privacy Policy, where you can also find out how to exercise your rights and how to lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority. For questions about cookies, write to [email protected].
