Press: data on property and neighbourhoods, ready to quote

The liveability index of more than 450,000 inhabited areas in Italy, with natural hazards, prices and services from official sources. For journalists and newsrooms.

What we can give you

  • Ready-made rankings, with method and sources: neighbourhood liveability in Milan, Rome, Turin and Bologna. The other rankings are collected on the Rankings page.
  • Data tailored to your city: the liveability index area by area, how many homes are in flood or landslide zones, the seismic zone, prices per square metre since 2016, services and public transport within walking distance. Tell us your question and we send the figures with sources.
  • A full report on an address, for a story on a house, a street or a neighbourhood.

Data and reports are free for newsrooms.

Where the data comes from

From 50 public sources, including the Italian Revenue Agency, ISPRA, INGV, Istat, Civil Protection and Copernicus. Every source is listed with its licence and date on the Sources page. The liveability index method is public, with weights and thresholds: how it is calculated.

How to credit us

Write "source: Vicinalia" with a link to https://vicinalia.com, plus the original sources listed under each ranking. The liveability index also uses ISPRA flood hazard data, licensed CC BY-SA 4.0: anyone republishing the values republishes them under the same licence. For an article, the credit is enough.

Contact

Write to [email protected]: we usually reply the same day. If you need a chart or a high-resolution map, say so in your request.
